Hispanic Groups Largely Silent On Zimmerman Verdict

While protests pop up across the country, Hispanic groups have been largely silent on the controversial verdict in the George Zimmerman trial saying they are in a a tricky spot.

If the Latino groups attacked the verdict, they would be taking a stand against one of their own. If they defended Zimmerman, whose mother is a Peruvian immigrant, they could alienate black groups angry at what they perceived was injustice against Trayvon Martin.

“When there is a clear ethnically-based perception that somebody is being wronged, Hispanics will rally,” Antonio Gonzalez, president of William C. Velasquez Institute, a non-partisan Latino advocacy nonprofit, told Fox News Latino.

Should the federal government prosecute George Zimmerman for shooting Trayvon Martin? The NAACP says yes...
NAACP Wants Feds to Prosecute George Zimmerman

To CBS News legal analyst Andrew Cohen, on its most basic level, the startling Zimmerman verdict -- and the case and trial that preceded it -- is above all a blunt reminder of the limitations of our justice system. Criminal trials are not searches for the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. They never have been. Our rules of evidence and the Bill of Rights preclude it. Our trials are instead tests of only that limited evidence a judge declares fit to be shared with jurors, who in turn are then admonished daily, hourly even, not to look beyond the corners of what they've seen or heard in court.

If he would of stayed in his car, Trayvon would not have tried to defend himself Guilty of shooting a teen.

Zimmerman should have been charged with 2nd degree murder. Possibly involuntary manslaughter.

How hard is it to connect that a young man died because a bigoted cop wannabee didn't obey the guidelines of being a pretend cop or the guidance of a 911 operator.
