OPINION: Five Leadership Lessons on Syria and Military Power for Obama
www.foxnews.com
President Obama's Saturday speech on Syria (where he decided not to decide) offers at least five fine examples of how not to employ military power.

As the U.S. prepares to deftly punch Syrian strongman Bashar Assad hard enough to hurt — but not drive him from power — he may decide not to play along and simply take the punch and quietly put his deadly gases away. But there's always the danger Assad or his allies could respond to Washington's retaliation by retaliating themselves.

Since joining the Senate, I’ve spent time in every one of New York’s 62 counties, meeting with New Yorkers and listening to their concerns. The number one issue on the minds of New Yorkers is the economy. That’s why I’ve made it my top priority to bring jobs back to New York, to protect the middle class and to provide small businesses with the incentives they need to start hiring again.

In addition, as Senator, I helped pass landmark legislation to repeal the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy that bans gays from serving openly in the military and I was proud to be the lead Senate sponsor of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act, which provides health care and compensation to the 9/11 first responders and community survivors that are sick with diseases caused by the toxins at Ground Zero.

I’ve enjoyed the engagement that Facebook allows me with my constituents and supporters from around the country. As Senator, I've held several live video Facebook chats and will continue to find new and innovative ways of using the openness and transparency of the Internet and social networks to connect with all of you. Thanks so much for listening, letting me know your thoughts and supporting my campaign.
