MELDONIUM IS NOT A PED .. OTHERWISE MY GRANDMOTHER AND MY UNCLE COULD PLAY THE GRAND SLAN and BEAT SERENA and NADAL .. Only hypothesis, assumption, conjecture, supposition. These big Wall Street corporations are prostitutes in disguise of saints, a bunch of crooks, it means hypocrisy; falseness; double-dealing; sanctimoniousness. Private profits, socializaing losses, they love HC for corporations with our money, dont tax them, blame the poor, social security and medicare. Sucking their workers with miserable wages
Matt William The Russian, 28, tested positive for meldonium, a substance she has been taking since 2006 for health issues.
I had been taking this medicine for the past 10 years, but on 1 January this became a prohibited substance which I did not know
Sara Jones If you guys watched the press conference, she's been taking this medication for ten years. Meldonium was given because she had many problems with ekgs, she was sick easily and had a family history of diabetes. It helped her with her overall health. It just became illegal for tennis players this year. So before you start judging and accusing her, know your facts. She also took full responsibility.
David Berger I gotta defend Maria here. She was using meldonium for 10 years, along with a lot of other athletes with no issue. Then the World Anti-Doping Agency changes rule and says as of January 1, 2016 it is illegal. She did admit that she received notification of the revised substances list in late December but did not check it and she says “I made a huge mistake."
Meldonium is a “banned substance” and NOT a PED (performance-enhancing drug). Big difference. It is unfair to compare her to big time athletes who got busted using PEDs. She was taking it due to a magnesium deficiency, irregular EKG results and a family history of diabetes.
I think it would be really unfair for this to tarnish her legacy. When she found out about her failed drug test she immediately owned it and held a press conference to admit her mistake. She isn't a cheater, she just used poor judgment.
.. Meldonium (also known as Mildronate , THP,
MET-88 , Mildronāts or Quaterine ) is a
clinically used anti- ischemic drug that is
currently manufactured and marketed by
Grindeks , a pharmaceutical company based in
Latvia . It is used in Lithuania and the
Russian Federation, but is not approved by
the Food and Drug Administration for use in
the United States . Since January 2016, it is
on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list
of substances banned from use by athletes.
